UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) encourages 11-18 year olds to use their elected voice to bring about social change. It’s a highly recognised responsibility, on both a local and national level, and requires commitment and dedication from those elected.
This provides opportunity for young people to get involved with campaigning and projects alongside socialising with other like–minded young people across Shropshire and the rest of the UK. MYP’s have the chance to raise issues of importance that impact upon young people both at a local level and in the House of Commons.
This is a fantastic gateway for young people to stand up for what they believe in alongside the development of a range of personal skills such as communication, public speaking, developing political knowledge, debating, teamwork, negotiation, and so much more!
